For a gearbox, a reducer or an axle, oil analyses make it possible to detect anomalies and thus prevent breakdowns, optimize settings and oil change intervals. Regular monitoring can allow you to extend the service life of the lubricant, plan and optimize your maintenance and thus reduce indirect costs linked to production shutdowns.

How to use this kit?

Once the order is placed, you will receive a sampling kit. Ensure you have a sampling pump (sold separately). Sampling must be done in a very clean environment ensuring the sample is not contaminated with any dirt or other products.

After analysis, the report will be sent to you by email and will be available on the application.

Analyses

Water content

Water promotes oxidation and corrosion. It creates risks of emulsion. It comes from an external inlet, a leak in the cooling circuit or, following storage of the lubricant, condensation problems.

Viscosity

Viscosity corresponds to the fluidity of the oil. It is measured using an automatic capillary viscometer. The interpretation of the result is done by comparison with new oil. A significant change in viscosity generally means: thermal or chemical deterioration of the lubricant or pollution by another fluid.

TAN

The TAN (acid number) is an element which allows us to assess the degree of oxidation of a lubricant by evaluating the quantity of acid formed.

This is an oil change criterion. The result should always be compared with the initial TAN of the oil.

Spectrometry

ICP emission spectrometry analysis makes it possible to determine, in a single rapid measurement, the concentrations expressed in ppm (parts per million) of the different elements present in the oil in the free state (metal particles) or combined (oxides, salts, etc.)

The origin and content of the elements provide information on the wear of the mechanical parts, the additivation of the lubricant and the contamination suffered by it.

Particle counting

Performed by an optical meter It locates the level of pollution of the oil by solid particles and allows the efficiency of the filtration to be assessed.

  • Once your order is registered, an analysis kit will be sent to you. You will be notified by email when your package is shipped.

  • Collect your sample using the Kit. Return your sample to the laboratory at the address on the envelope.

  • Once we receive your sample, our scientists will analyze and diagnose your sample.

  • The results will be sent to you by email and will be available on the mobile application.
